A LANSA application can be deployed on a Linux server.
For details see Deploying LANSA Applications on Linux and Other Remote System Monitors.
The server portion of any Visual LANSA application can be delivered to a Linux system directly from the Visual LANSA IDE. You should follow the recommended procedure by first transferring the application from the development Visual LANSA system to a deployment copy of Visual LANSA. Compile and test the application to be deployed from within the deployment copy of Visual LANSA, before deploying to Linux.
Deployment to Linux is then achieved from within the deployment Visual LANSA IDE by following these steps:
1. Define a Remote System:
a. Define a routing entry for the Linux system using the LANSA Communications Administrator
b. In Visual LANSA define a New / Remote System from the File menu.
c. Initialize the partition on the Deployment System
2. In Visual LANSA identify the server objects to be deployed to Linux. We recommend you define a List in the Repository and add all required objects to this list.
d. Select the objects to be deployed and use the context menu to select Deliver to "remote system name". A User and Password for the Linux system will be required to establish a connection.
Note that the Deploying LANSA Applications on Linux guide recommends first testing the deployment using a supplied simple client/server application.
